Digital Technology Will Eliminate Millions of Jobs But Create New Opportunities

#artificialintelligence

BOSTON--Technology is upending labor markets, and governments, companies, and individuals need to look beyond aggregate numbers and consider how individual professions will be affected. The report, titled The Future of Jobs in the Era of AI, is being released today by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Faethm. In the report, the authors look at a variety of factors to determine how the supply and demand for individual types of jobs will change. These include shifts in the size of national workforces due to college graduation rates, retirements, and mortality, along with technology adoption rates and the impact of COVID-19 on economic growth. The result is a highly detailed analysis for all three countries across multiple scenarios.

Why Artificial Intelligence Will Eliminate Millions Of Sales Jobs

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence is changing the world. When it comes to sales, we've already seen AI replace basic jobs in retail and fast food. But by 2020, a million B2B salespeople will lose their jobs, according to Forrester. AI won't make all salespeople's jobs irrelevant, though -- just the not-so-great salespeople. If your reps are still cold-calling or if their days are filled with busywork, AI will soon eliminate their jobs.

PREPARING FOR THE DRIVERLESS DISRUPTION

#artificialintelligence

It seems as if everyone is finally talking about driverless vehicles, or AVs (autonomous vehicles) as they are commonly called. Even Tyler Brule, who normally likes to recount some unsatisfactory business travel experience, devoted a recent FT column to the subject. We know it's coming; so what can we expect from the driverless revolution? The upside to commuters is massive. Global auto accident deaths, around 1.25 million annually, will be radically reduced. Our cities will not only be safer, they'll be cleaner too.
